Melani B. de Silva, MD, FAAP
Dr. de Silva is a graduate of The University of Witwatersrand Medical School in Johannesburg, South Africa with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. She has a Pediatric Board Certification by the Royal College of Physicians in the United Kingdom. She completed her pediatric residency from the University of Virginia. While at the University of Virginia, she was awarded the Pediatric Resident Annual Award in 2003. Prior to joining the practice in 2007, she worked as a Pediatric Emergency Physician at the Chippenham campus of CJW Medical Center. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics, a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP) and an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. de Silva and her husband, Neil, have two children, Nishal and Nalia. She enjoys horticulture, reading, cooking, and traveling with her family.
